Vilagallo has been turning out bold prints and colourful dresses from Madrid since 1997. Founders Inés Villalón and Beatriz Gallo built the label around what they call "classic with a twist": familiar shapes, unexpected colour and prints you won't find on the high street. We stock Vilagallo because it's genuinely difficult to find prints like these anywhere else. Everything is a limited run, so what you buy really is only in a handful of shops, and that matters to a lot of our customers.
Dresses are where Vilagallo does its best work, in prints that range from tie-dye to jungle cheetah to hand-painted florals. Shirts and blouses follow the same rule of bold colour and pattern, and there's a good run of tailored jackets, trousers and the odd silk scarf for when you want the print without wearing quite so much of it.
The label takes its name from its founders, Villalón and Gallo, who set it up in Madrid in 1997 with a business partner, Alberto Rodríguez. The design team still works between Madrid and Piacenza, in northern Italy, which is where the Mediterranean colour meets a slightly more tailored, Italian eye.
